Classic tastings at historical Merchant Taylors’
We have a rare opportunity for you to host a tasting evening in one of the beautiful rooms at our neighbours, Merchant Taylors’.
The Experience
We will offer a Classic Cheese and Wine Tasting Experience; six stunning wines matched to six cheeses selected from our range of over 150 national and international cheeses. Your guests will be guided through the tasting by our experts. This is a perfect opportunity for client entertaining or showing visitors a unique glimpse of historical London.
Dates and details
The 2012 dates we have are all Tuesday evenings: May 22, September 18 and November 20.
We ask for a minimum number of 30 guests, and can accommodate up to 60.
Cost is £40.00 per head which includes VAT.

Cheese Mini-tours for Two
The Cheese mini-tours are held in the Cheese shop and are run by Sue Cloke, founder of Cheese, and her team.
What’s a mini-tour at Cheese?
Our mini-tours offer a brief yet very informative introduction to cheese and/or wine - learn in a nutshell about the different types of cheese, from goat to cow, and soft to hard, and sample a variety of grapes. As you are guided through the tastings the team will happily answer any questions you may have.
Choose from one of the following packages:
Cheese Mini-tour
Enjoy an an introduction to our international cheeses with Sue, then enjoy a tailor made platter of cheese, served with bread, biscuits and chutney.
£25 per couple
Deluxe Cheese Mini-tour
Relax at the bar with a welcome drink of champagne, followed by a Cheese mini-tour.
£40 per couple
Cheese and wine Mini-tour
Savour a Cheese mini-tour followed by tasters of four different grape varieties, plus descriptions given by our experienced bar staff.
£40 per couple
Deluxe Cheese and Wine Mini-tour
A Cheese mini-tour with all the trimmings - welcome glass of champagne, followed by the mini cheese and wine tour.
£55 per couple
The cheese tours and the wine tours last around fifteen minute each, but please allow at least an hour for the complete experience.
Booking information
If you can, please book the starting time of your tour in advance. Pick a slot from these times:
Mondays 2.30pm - 4.00pm
Tuesdays & Wednesdays 2.30pm - 5.00pm
Thursdays & Fridays 3.00pm - 6.00pm
If you are purchasing a mini-tour as a gift, there is no need to book a time slot immediately. The gift recipient can make the booking at a time which is convenient to them. Gift vouchers are valid for up to one year. You can customise the gift voucher as you wish. Just mention this when booking.
